Does any one know anything about lithium in bipolar treatment?

I have my Precription but for some reason I'm so afraud take. I have been treated for depression, but after years without succces I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Why do I fear? And can anyone relate? Lithium has a long and successful history and a friend of mine used so I could see good results. Be careful, because the dose is essential. Has never too much. I have heard that filling in a bipolar creativity do the same thing so there is a choice that you may take. You have every reason to be afraid. It is poison.
